Data Protection

General
The Karl Landsteiner Institute for Rare Diseases in Hematology is part of the Karl Landsteiner Society , a non-profit organization to promote medical-scientific research based at Julius Raab-Promenade 49/1, 3100 St. Pölten, Austria. The central association register number is: 834257037. The institute operates the training app Clotting-Guide and the website www.clotting-guide.online.
These data protection regulations explain the nature, scope, and purposes of the collection and use of data from customers (our “users”) through the app and the website.
The protection of your personal data is particularly important to us. We therefore process your data exclusively based on the legal provisions (DSG, TKG). In these data protection regulations, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing within the framework of our website/our apps/our services.

Categories of personal data collected by the app Clotting-Guide
The app Clotting-Guide was programmed by the company “all about apps”. When using the app Clotting-Guide, no personal data is collected or stored. Further information about the systems and third-party providers used for this can be found in the data protection regulations of “all about apps”. The Karl Landsteiner Institute for Rare Diseases in Hematology has no influence on this and assumes no responsibility for it.

Third party
Interactions with our third-party providers relevant to data protection law are listed below. The form of this integration (the origin of the connection or the place where the personal data is transmitted) takes place either directly – from the app or from the user browser on websites – or indirectly via the servers that provide our service provide who implement the corresponding integrations with third-party providers.

User rights and storage period
One of the main goals of the GDPR is to define and protect data protection rights for EU citizens and individuals within the EU. Even if you have already provided us with certain personal data, you still have various rights regarding your personal data. You have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation, objection and complaint to a supervisory authority. If we make a request to you, we may ask you to confirm your identity or obtain any additional identifying information you may require. Where legally permissible, your application may also be rejected for reasons clearly stated by us.
In principle, all personal data remains in our operational systems until the purpose of data processing – to provide the service requested by the user – expires or the user requests deletion. Users can request the responsible body to block or delete their data at any time.
If the possibility of direct (automated) deletion of certain or all personal data within the app/website is made available, personal data associated with this will also be completely deleted from our operational systems and can no longer be used for the service. Excluded from this deletion process are any third-party providers contacted (outside our control) and any independent archive systems we use that are used for failover (backups) or for error logging (log files). Such data sets in these independent archive systems (cannot be used operationally and can only be viewed to a limited extent) are automatically overwritten – usually after one year.
When you use this website, any other personal data – other than those already set out – will only be stored “temporarily” for the length of time that is technically necessary to provide this service, serve IT security, or help us troubleshoot errors. This includes, in particular, log files, IP addresses, user data, and identifiers. This data will not be used for any other purposes and in accordance with data protection regulations (DSG, TKG).
It is our aim to store and/or transmit your data as securely as possible. We therefore only store your data on systems within the European Economic Area and only transfer your data to third-party providers if they are obliged to comply with the GDPR/GDPR data protection requirements or are bound to an equivalent level of data protection by signing an agreement between other legal systems. This does not apply to any requests you have made explicitly for data transfer.
Please send all information requests, questions, or objections to data processing by email to [datenschutz@clotting-guide.online] or in writing to the address listed in the appendix under “Our contact details”.
